WHERE DO YOU WANT YOUR PHOTO SHOOT TO TAKE PLACE?
We can have the session anywhere you like. Some families want me to come to their home and include indoor and outdoor shots. Or we could do the shoot at your favorite park, downtown or a location that has some significance to you. If you don’t have an idea in mind, no worries. I created this blog post to show you some of my favorite photo shoot locations.
Below are my top spots. They are shot at different times of the year and at different times of the day. Keep in mind that it might look different at the day/time/season of your shoot.
87 Lake Drive, Candler, NC 28715
(Pictured below and above)
My neighborhood is centered around a lake. This is my very favorite location because it’s beautiful, has plenty of variety and all my clients seem to really love it. A large portion of the photos in my gallery were taken at Biltmore Lake.
The ground is level and it’s easy to get around. There’s a dock, boathouse with canoes, swimming beach, pavilion that sits out on the water, big fire pit, flower beds and mowed grass. It has a park like feel.
If we want to add a little activity to your session you can; you can wade in the water, play in the sand, fish on the dock, use a canoe, make smores in fire pit or have a picnic. Dog are welcome too.
Candler, NC 28715
This natural area has a country feel to it. It’s county owned property. Sometimes the grass is super long and will come to your thighs. At other times it may only be shin tall. The tall grass photographs great but little kids don’t always like how it feels on their legs. If you choose this location, we will need to have a back up spot just in case it gets mowed. It doesn’t look good for a couple weeks after a mowing.
Sometimes there are wild flowers growing. The photos with the girl were taken in May.
1572 Sand Hill Rd, Candler, NC 28715
I love this field especially during the fall and winter. It has pretty sunset views.
Charles D Owen Park
875 Warren Wilson Rd, Swannanoa, NC 28778
-Busy park and most likely will have fisherman on the pier like there is in the photo. I can easily Photoshop people out who are walking in the distance.
– Good place to feed geese (I think) I didn’t see any signs saying you can’t.
-No wading or swimming.
-This lake is smaller than Biltmore Lake (above) which mean you can see the trees across the lake which will make your photos more colorful.
-The photos below may seem like odd photos to include but there is also a baseball field and the fence makes a nice backdrop for older kids.
-There is also an empty lot near by. If it hasn’t been mowed recently it will have tall grass and maybe wildflowers. This provides some variety of shots.
There are plenty of beautiful interesting locations in the Asheville area. If one of these appeals to you let me know.
