KIDS, DON’T LEAVE!
It seems like all the tv shows I have seen lately, have teens getting ready to move out of their parent’s home to go to college. My daughter will be in 11th grade next year. The year kids apply to college. I know she still has 18 months to go but, I thought I would get a head start on my worrying.
My son will go to college the year after her.
Taking pictures of my children has really been on my mind lately. I used to take SO many photos of them when they were younger. I’ve been a little lax the last few years.
When they would play all the time, I was quick to grab my camera and snap away. They aren’t little anymore. They don’t play with toys. They don’t get lost in make believe and spend hours out in nature. Instead they sit in their rooms listening to music, or sit in front of a computer or texting their friends. It’s a bit more challenging to find interest ways to photograph my kids these days, but it’s still just as important to me.
I want to remember everything about the next few years – as they may be the last years that they live in our family home.
As a way to help encourage me to take more photos of my kids, I started a Facebook group. It’s called, “Rock your camera Asheville”. I’d love for you to join us.
